Anna Lappé is the Executive Director of the Global Alliance for the Future of Food, a strategic network of philanthropic partners around the world working for food systems transformation. A national bestselling author, Anna is the co-author or author of three books and the contributing author to 18 more. A James Beard Leadership Award recipient, Anna is also the founder or co-founder of three national organizations, including the Small Planet Institute and Real Food Media, which develops communications strategy and critical analysis for food systems change. As a funder, she has led the grantmaking of the Small Planet Fund since 2002 and created and directed the Food Sovereignty Fund of the Panta Rhea Foundation from 2016 to 2023. Anna is a founding Steering Committee member of the Castanea Fellowship and Vice Chair of Rainforest Action Network. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and their two daughters.
